The Nebraska Science Festival is a statewide initiative founded by the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) to promote science literacy and community engagement through interactive, educational experiences for audiences of all ages.
For this project, I led the redevelopment of the festival’s website, migrating it from a custom-built PHP application to a modern WordPress platform. Using the Astra theme as a foundation, I developed a customized child theme and built custom WordPress plugins to support the organization’s unique content and event management needs. The result was a more maintainable, user-friendly website that improved content administration while providing a modern experience focused on accessibility for festival attendees.
