The UNMC Campus Map is a web application designed to help students, staff, patients, and visitors navigate the University of Nebraska Medical Center campus. As part of a long-term modernization effort, I rebuilt the platform by migrating it from a legacy Ruby on Rails application to WordPress using a custom theme and a heavily customized Google Maps integration.
Over multiple years of development and refinement, the site underwent several rounds of accessibility testing to ensure an inclusive user experience and compliance with accessibility standards. The project transformed a developer-dependent system into a flexible content management platform, enabling Strategic Communications staff to maintain map content, locations, and campus information efficiently without requiring extensive development support.
